Three Exmoor Food Fest pubs amongst the
Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK

Three award winning restaurants taking part in the 2017 Exmoor Food Fest made it into the Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK.  Today their ranking was announced in an Awards Ceremony: The Swan in Bampton ranked 50, Tarr Farm Inn came in on rank 27 and Michelin starred Mason Arms in Knowstone ranked 15

“This is an incredible result for our region and an amazing boon for our Exmoor Food Fest”, commented festival organiser Elke Winzer.  “About one third of all listed gastro pubs are situated in England’s South West which is a testament to the high standard of the food served in our pubs and restaurants.”

The Swan, Tarr Farm Inn and the Mason Arms are amongst the close to 30 restaurants in the wider Exmoor region taking part in the third Exmoor Food Fest.  All participating restaurants are offering 2 courses for £10.00 and 3 courses for £15.00.

Paul and Donna Berry from The Swan were amongst this year’s guest chef dinner which launched the Exmoor Food Fest at the Luttrell Arms in Dunster on 26 January.  Tarr Farm Inn will host the media launch of next year’s food festival in September.

“We would like to congratulate The Swan, Tarr Farm and The Mason Arms on this achievement, and we are very proud that they play such a vital role in our food festival,” said Elke Winzer.

The Exmoor Food Fest runs throughout February.

Notes:

The “Estrella Damm” Top 50 Gastropub Awards are voted for by top foodies and hospitality experts. These include gastropub operators (who can’t vote for their own pubs), food writers, pubco catering development managers and executive chefs, celebrity and top hospitality industry chefs, pub guide editors, industry chiefs and food operators. The voting criteria ensures the list really is decided by the industry.
